NEW SHORT FILM IN PRE-PRODUCTION
UFH [Unidentified Flying Human]
I am thrilled to announce my new short film as writer-director-producer: UFH [Unidentified Flying Human], a dark satire currently in pre-production, with a shoot scheduled for Summer 2026.
UFH follows Ana: a French actress of Arab heritage heading to her first day on a major studio film, who is profiled as a threat and detained for a hostile interrogation at a U.S. airport.
UFH is a film born out of personal experience, a story about identity, systemic bias, and what it feels like to be made to feel alien in your own skin. It is also, at its core, a satire. Because sometimes, the absurdity of what we live through can only be told through that lens.

THE SIGN - AWARD & SELECTIONS 2026

The Sign has World Premiered at the New Jersey’s premier independent film festival, the Garden State Film Festival 2025, and continues its festival run. After the International Mobile Film Festival in San Diego, The Sign made its NYC Premiere at the New York Mobile Film Festival, played in Australia, — and received an Audience Choice Award Honorable Mention at YoFiFest 2025. Most recently, The Sign screened at the Glass Ceiling Breakers Film Festival 2026, in celebration of its 10th anniversary, in Garrison, NY.
The film follows a woman whose jog through the park that turns to panic when she finds herself dialing 911. But things are not always as they seem...
In creating this project, I made the choice to adopt a singular visual language, crafting an immersive mise-en-scène that limits the frame to a single point of view, never revealing any faces. This deliberate approach draws the audience into a sensory and deeply subjective experience.
This film is deeply personal—I created it to raise awareness about disability, particularly invisible disabilities, a cause very close to my heart. I can’t wait to share it with an audience!
WONDER POWER TOUR 2025 CHINA

In the summer of 2025, I had the honor of performing in China for the very first time: two concerts in Shanghai and Beijing alongside the WONDERful Noémie Garcia, as part of the Wonder Power Tour, an all-women celebration of music, artistry, and cross-cultural connection.
Women together is not always easy, but with Noémie, it was pure harmony. Our collaboration was united, supportive, and deeply creative. She is not only an extraordinary artist, she is a beautiful human being.
The response from the audience moved me beyond words. Mozart L'Opéra Rock had toured in China and was a hit, but fans only knew me through the 2009-10 DVD. They came to the concerts and fan meetings, spoiling us with gifts, love, tears, and cosplays of Aloysia. Being thanked and so deeply loved for what I performed sixteen years ago was an incredible experience.
The tour was followed by an interview with CGTN, the China Global Television Network, and covered by international press including MusicDish, La República, and Eurasia Times. One line stayed with me: "Melissa Mars — a celestial spirit in human form."

Collaborating with the Garden State Screenwriters, we’ve crafted a story where a grandfather weaves together eerie tales of New Jersey for his young granddaughter as they drive down the Garden State Parkway towards what waits for them at… Exit 0.
The exciting news is that we’ve officially entered the fundraising phase! Exit Zero has been selected by Stowe Story Labs as an official sponsored project. Five strangers are brought together in the remote mountains of Kurdistan, Iraq, by a doctor who claims she can cure them of the terrifying nightmare they all share.
Ten years ago, we were in Erbil, Kurdistan, Iraq, filming the first international movie in the region—an indie horror film. Our production was abruptly halted by real-life horrors when we were forced to evacuate Erbil due to the ISIS threat. Six months later, we finished filming in Jordan.
With that incredible journey in mind, we’re proud to announce that Curse of Mesopotamia, based on the Newroz legend and written/directed/produced by Lauand Omar, is now available in the US and Canada on TUBI, ROKU, and Prime’s FREEVIE.

CASINO DE PARIS - NOVEMBER 2023
After 9 years, I reunited with my colleagues from Mozart the Rock Opera, including Florent Mothe who played Salieri, Mozart's nemesis and Rodrigue Janois, who co-signed some of the musical's hits, as well as with my beloved character Aloysia Weber, that I brought to life with passion.
Les Retrouvailles reunited the best of French hit musicals and cast members from The 10 Commandments, The Sun King, Romeo & Juliet, 1789 and Mozart The Rock Opera.
My heart literally beat Bim Bam Boum (title of my solo) in front of a SOLD OUT CASINO DE PARIS. Looking forward to season 2 in September 2024! In the meanwhile check out Ryther's photos.

MY ANCESTORS' SONG

I have been honored with a Best Screenplay award at Bridgeport Film Festival 2022, and multiple accolades, second round at Screencraft Film Fund 2022, semifinalist at Hollyshorts 2022 as well as London's Outstanding Screenplays 2023 for my script My Ancestors’ Song, a short drama that tells the poignant story of an Algerian-French actress trying to make it in Hollywood while struggling to embrace her heritage.
This poignant, often humorous drama reflects the struggle of staying connected to one’s roots while adapting to a new country and challenging industry stereotypes. Writing the screenplay allowed me to explore my heritage and honor my ancestors, drawing deeply from my own experiences. Now, this story is being developed into a feature film!
